Kid's Incorporated - begins September 14, 10 a.m.
A not-fot-profit social/support group open to all parents of children ages birth to 5, in Kearney, Liberty, Excelsior Springs, Smithville and surrounding communities. Meetings held at the First Christian Church, 105 S. Prospect St., Kearney.We meet weekly on Thursdays at 10 a.m., the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month for sharing, playing and refreshments. The 1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month we do various children's activities throughout the metro area. We also have activities for MOMS ONLY! Jesse James Festival - September 14, 15, 16, 17
The Jesse James Festival begins September 14 at the Jesse James Festival Grounds on N. Jefferson, with Armband Night ($10 each - purchase at carnival). On September 15 there will be a Barbecue Check-in, Carnival and Festival Dance (fee). On September 16 the Festival 5K and 10K Walk/Run Classic will be held, Craft Tents will open, Grandstand Activities and Parade will be held. Also, the URA/MRCA Rodeo will be held at 2:30 p.m. (fee) and there will be a Festival Dance (fee). On September 17 the Festival continues with a Worship Service, Grandstand Activities, Craft Tents, Carnival, and the URA/MRCA Rodeo will be held at 2:30 p.m. (fee). Liberty Fall Festival - September 22-23

Books Needed for Annual Autumn Book Sale - September 22-23
The Clay County Archives will hold its annual autumn book sale Sept. 22-23 during the Liberty Fall Festival. Donations will be accepted at the Archives, 210 E. Franklin, Monday through Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Donors who have a lot of books may call the Archives at 781-3611 to arrange a pick up.

Liberty Farmers' Market
The Liberty Farmers' Market is 3 p.m. to sunset Mondays; 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesdays in front of Sutherland's and 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays on the historic Liberty Square now until October. All produce is grown by vendors in Missouri in Clay, Platte, Clinton, Ray or Jackson County.

Concerned Citizens
Northland Concerned Citizens meet the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m. Call 455-0861 for more information.

Grief Recovery Support Group
Liberty United Methodist Church will host the six-week sessions in Room H beginning July 12, 7 p.m. The church is located at 1001 Sunset. Anyone who has experienced a loss through the death of a family member or friend is encouraged to attend. The support group will discuss issues such as coping, stress, pain and recovery. There is no fee but we are asking that you pre-register by calling the church at 781-4554. Child care is furnished. The group is led by Cherie Swaters, RN, BSN.

J.O.Y. to the World Aerobics Program
Senior citizens, ages 55 and older, can increase their body strength, endurance and flexibility by attending a special fitness program offered by Maple Woods Community Center. The program, "Just Older Youth", is offered throughout the year from 8:30 - 9:20 a.m. Mondays and Wednesdays in the Maple Woods Fitness Center, located in the college's Northland Human Services Building, 3100 NE 83rd St. Seniors citizens can purchase a special $30 fitness pass to attend the aerobics program for 10 sessions. Life Preserver Classes
Clay County Health Center's Health Promotions Section provides wellness programs for senior adults at 13 sites throughout Clay County. Clinics are held monthly in Avondale, Claycomo, Excelsior Springs, Gladstone, Liberty, Kearney and Kansas City through a MARC grant. Senior Art Classes
Bessie Grod, watercolor artist, teaches art classes for senior citizens at the Liberty Senior Center, Mondays from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. The cost of each class is $5. The classes are held in the craft room at the Liberty Community Center, 1600 S. Withers Road, Liberty. Call 792-6042 for questions or to sign up.

Stroke Support Group
The American Heart Association sponsors stroke support groups for stroke survivors and their caregivers at Liberty Hospital the fourth Thursday of every month at 1:30 p.m. Times may vary. For more information contact Nancy Schneider at 792-7105.

Kelly Miller Circus - October 11
The Optimist Club of Liberty will bring to our community one of only a handful of traveling shows still in existence, the Kelly Miller Circus, for a one-day event. The two shows will be held at the Earnest Shepherd Memorial Youth Center, at 4:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. All adult tickets must be purchased from an Optimist member or through one of our ticket outlets, which will be located throughout the community.
